Full month celebration

Daddy and Mummy held two celebrations for you, once at yeye and nainai place and another at gonggong and popo place. A lot of people came to celebrate your arrival, you behaved yourself but we only took a few photos (mostly with ah zuo) as we were busy with the guests. Happy one month old, baby Ashley and many more to come!

NUH Staycation

Mummy and baby ashley stayed at NUH for 5 days 4 nights, an extra night due to your jaundice (which came on the 3rd night). Relatives came to visit us and Daddy stayed over with us for the "staycation", Ashton korkor came and he adores you. Most of the people commented you look like Korkor and Mummy but we are just glad that you are healthy.

We had to visit polyclinic a few times to check your jaundice and you were finally "discharged" from jaundice after 2 visits to polyclinic.

Arrival of Lin Xinmin Ashley

Ashton's baby sister Ashley arrived on 1 March 2014, we wanted to delivered you via elective csect on 28 Feb, Dr TM Chua mentioned that her operation day is on Thursday and asked if it is ok if we changed it to 27/2 or 6/3, first we decided on 27/2 and we changed it to 6/3 so that you will share the same birthday as waipo.

Met Dr TM Chua on 27/2 and she mentioned that we had to brought forward the date as you are very low and might not be able to wait till 6/3 and the date was again changed to 4/3 (the earliest available date for csect in NUH).

On 1 March 2014, mummy was woken up by the contractions pain and thinking that by visiting the toilet maybe the contractions will go off but there was blood. Mummy woke daddy up and off we go to NUH at 5am.

A gynae checked mummy at 7+ and mentioned that mummy is 3-4cm dilated. Dr TM Chua arrived at 8+ and she asked if mummy want to try for natural delivery mummy told her that we want to continue with csect and do not want to try. So you had to undergo an emergency csect like kor kor Ashton.

We were in a OT at around 830am to prepare for epidural injection and etc, and finally, you were out at 0928. When the gynae were trying to deliver you, daddy mentioned that you got lots of hair and mummy asked him, can he see you and why are you not crying (korkor let out a big wail when he was out).  Dr Chua asked those who are available to go over and help the PD, the anaesthetist, Dr Poon went over to help out. After the PD put you down to check on you, you still were not crying and we were panicking, mummy kept asking daddy why are you not crying and mummy was in tears looking at the PD flicking the bottom of your feet trying to get a response from you, it must be the longest minute that we had to go through and finally, we heard you crying and we were so relieved. Dr Poon came over and reassured me that baby is fine and the other lady anaesthetist was using tissue to wipe mummy's tears.

Back in the ward, mummy was telling daddy 2 is enough as both of birth has brought too much drama for mummy to bear. hehe. but who knows whether we will change our mind later.

Welcome to our family, baby Ashley! May you stay strong and healthy!

Love

Daddy and Mummy
